In Miami, a city enriched with over 200 charities and associations catering to various needs, such as health, child welfare, anti-violence, justice, elderly care, immigration, and disabilities, there exists an underserved segment – the Latinx LGBTQ+ immigrant youth.
We firmly believe in the inherent strength, resilience, and leadership potential of LGBTQ+ youth, recognizing them as the future leaders of our broader community. Furthermore, we deeply appreciate the courage and determination displayed by Latinx immigrants in the LGBTQ+ community who have sought refuge in the U.S., not just in search of new beginnings, but also in their pursuit of safety and the fundamental right to live freely and authentically.
Through collaborative initiatives, tailored resources, and an environment of acceptance, we aim to foster a more inclusive society where every individual is empowered to embrace their identity and contribute positively to our shared future.

At Support Miami Foundation our values are focused on nurturing the full potential of LATINX LGBTQ+ IMMIGRANT YOUTH by:
Addressing the distinctive challenges experienced by LGBTQ+ immigrant youth in Miami is pivotal for improving their overall mental health and well-being. These challenges are compounded by the intersection of factors such as ethnicity, immigration status, sexual orientation, and gender identity. This complex interplay intensifies the difficulties related to self-acceptance, familial acceptance, and the societal stigmas they encounter.
Furthermore, when LGBTQ+ youth have family members with undocumented or mixed immigration statuses, it introduces additional hurdles. They are often confronted with the intricate task of navigating various government systems and institutions. This situation forces LGBTQ+ youth to make heart-wrenching decisions, often pitting their own well-being against that of their family.
Being a member of the LGBTQ+ community doesn’t necessarily increase the risk for mental health issues; but the stigma and discrimination LGBTQ+ individuals may face from family, friends and society can increase risk for mental health challenges.
If you are, or think you might be LGBTQ+ and going through a tough time, you’re not alone. Whether you’re trying to figure out your own identity or want to learn how to talk to others, it can be hard to know where to find support.
